Bow Ties Apr 29

SAND ONE Presents:
"Bow Ties Sand Chikz"
A week long exhibition showcasing new mixed media works by LA's youngest female street artist.

Los Angeles- From corn carts and taco stands to the Art Basel walls of Miami, this pint sized artist continues to leave a larger than life mark in every town she visits. In only two years Sand's signature mob of buxom female cartoon characters, known as "Sand Chikz," have taken the art community by storm....

Join us in celebration of Sand's first solo exhibit, on April 29 starting at 6pm, at Casa de la Cultura located -1711 Mariachi Plaza De Los Angeles, between 1st St and North Boyle Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90033

Sand's first solo exhibition, "Bow Ties," will feature her signature ultra-feminine and hood "Sand Chikz" in a different light. Each Sand Chik will be dressed in a tuxedo, symbolizing class, authority, and power; three characteristics often associated with masculinity and wealth. In "Bow Ties" Sand One's objective is to liberate the gender biased restrictions often imposed on women while also questioning the relationship between street and fine art.

Guest Artists:
3rd-i
Alakazia
Argon
Franz Garcia

The show will feature girls who embody the spirit of "Sand Chikz," as well as music and refreshments.

Gift bags including Sand One Prints and bows will be given to the first five guests wearing bow ties!

Sand's artwork featured in "Bow Ties" will gladly donate part of the sales proceeds to benefit the Venice Public Art Walls, managed by In Creative Unity-a graffiti arts advocacy group and leaders of the movement to preserve the walls as a living memorial to high quality graffiti style art.
